Spring has Sprung

Wow, it has been a while since I have written a blog post.  Much has happened on Chase St lately.

First off...  I no longer work for the Dispatch Center.  I was hired by Infitech.  A local IT company.  Anything technology related we handle.  From residential to big business.  So now I am trying to learn as much as I can.  You only learn so much in school.  On the job training is where it is at.  I have been at Infitech for a good month now.  Things are going great.  One of the best parts of it all...  WEEKENDS OFF!  Spending more time with Darlene and the kids is awesome.

You may or may have not have heard Violet spending a night in the hospital.  She had a fever, we took her to the doctor and they needed to run some tests.  She had a high white blood cell count so they admitted her.  Once of the worse things ever is to have to hold your daughter down as she is crying so hard that she gags on her own drool while they try not once, but three times to get an IV in her tiny little hand.  I hope I never have to see that again as a parent.  We were able to leave the hospital the 2nd night after she had a 2nd round of antibiotics.  It was determined that she had a UTI.  We then had an ultrasound done a week later to determine if things were moving the way they were supposed to be.  Thankfully they are, but at that time it was determined that she has an enlarged kidney.  Most likely from the UTI, but we are meeting with a specialist to just double check things.
I felt so bad for Violet.  To comfort herself she sucks on her left hand, and that is the hand they had all bandaged up.  She was so frustrated.  But we were still able to get some smiles out of her!

Those are the two main things that have happened with us recently.  We have been enjoying the nice weather, taking the kids for walks and checking out things in the yard.  We are excited to take them to the lakes and pools this summer!  They love bath time!

Hope to post more again soon!  Thanks for reading.

Schooled

As many of you know I have been going back to school for my IT-Networking degree from MSTC in Stevens Point.  I am in my 3rd semester.  I have 2 semesters left.  I will be doing another full time semester this next spring.  I did full time last spring and it was rough.  Hopefully it won't kill me like last semester did.  The plan is that I will graduate next December.  There have been some rough spots, but I made it through.  I am looking forward to finishing up this semester and getting started with the next one.  I will hopefully be doing my internship soon and I am excited to get some on the job experience. I am also looking forward to getting done with the semester so that I have more time to do work on the house.  We plan on doing most of the work on the back bedroom the first/second weekend in January, when I am on winter break.  And then the plan is to work on the bathroom over spring break. (the end of March)   The G ...

Post Op

First of all thank you to everyone that prayed for us last week while Darlene had her surgery.  Everything went great.  Darlene is doing well.  Still a little sore sometimes, but hopefully on the fast track of recovering!  Last time it was arthroscopic procedure.  This time it was actually an incision.  So there is more healing time needed now. The hardest thing now is Darlene being around the kids when she can't pick them up for a few weeks yet.  It is killing her that she can't pick up an hold her babies.  She does as much as she can, bathing, changing, feeding.  So she is at least getting some good time with them.  But it isn't the same.  She plans on being able to persuade the Dr. when she goes in for her check up to ease up on the lifting restrictions.  Nothing over 10lbs currently.  Violet is at 15lbs and Ryan at 18lbs!  They get so big, so fast.
