Changes

Life as we knew it on Chase Street has changed.  Changed for the better?  We hope so because it can't get any worse!

As many of you know we brought our twins Violet and Ryan home on my father's birthday, July 17th.  The first few days were hell.  We had wondered what we had gotten ourselves into.  We called in some back up (our parents)  Having someone there to help us out was awesome and helped us so much.  Some of the best help we had was from Darlene's book club ladies.  They took turns cooking us dinner a few nights a week.  That was awesome.

2 hours of sleep over a period of 30 is not a good thing.  Thank goodness for family and friends that helped out.

It's crazy how one day you are going about your business and then one day everything changes.  You no longer matter and now you have two little people that need to be taken care of before anything else happens.  And we are OK with that.

Being home with them has been the best.  Even though they may be crying and fussing a lot, it is still great to be with them.  They also drive us crazy!  But we love them more than anything.  It is amazing how that happens.
They are slowly becoming themselves.  Facial expressions are so fun to watch.  Violet is very laid back, not much upsets her.  Ryan loves looking out the window and going for walks.  We are excited for them to start to talk to us and each other.

It has and will continue to be one wild ride.

Schooled

As many of you know I have been going back to school for my IT-Networking degree from MSTC in Stevens Point.  I am in my 3rd semester.  I have 2 semesters left.  I will be doing another full time semester this next spring.  I did full time last spring and it was rough.  Hopefully it won't kill me like last semester did.  The plan is that I will graduate next December.  There have been some rough spots, but I made it through.  I am looking forward to finishing up this semester and getting started with the next one.  I will hopefully be doing my internship soon and I am excited to get some on the job experience. I am also looking forward to getting done with the semester so that I have more time to do work on the house.  We plan on doing most of the work on the back bedroom the first/second weekend in January, when I am on winter break.  And then the plan is to work on the bathroom over spring break. (the end of March)   The G ...

Post Op

First of all thank you to everyone that prayed for us last week while Darlene had her surgery.  Everything went great.  Darlene is doing well.  Still a little sore sometimes, but hopefully on the fast track of recovering!  Last time it was arthroscopic procedure.  This time it was actually an incision.  So there is more healing time needed now. The hardest thing now is Darlene being around the kids when she can't pick them up for a few weeks yet.  It is killing her that she can't pick up an hold her babies.  She does as much as she can, bathing, changing, feeding.  So she is at least getting some good time with them.  But it isn't the same.  She plans on being able to persuade the Dr. when she goes in for her check up to ease up on the lifting restrictions.  Nothing over 10lbs currently.  Violet is at 15lbs and Ryan at 18lbs!  They get so big, so fast.
